Research Technologist - Department of Entomology
Available for 1 position
The Department of Entomology, AFRIMS is looking for a qualified Research Technologist to fill a position.
Major duties
- Responsible for field and laboratory experiments on malaria projects.
- Performs scientific research involving human subjects.
- Assists in performing field and laboratory experiments using immunological and microscopic techniques (i.e. mosquito dissection, identifying parasitemic blood samples and conducting ELISA).
- Performs routine in vitro culturing of the malaria parasite and conducts in vitro assays in support of anti-malarial drug studies.
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Tropical Medicine or Biomedical Science with a licensed Medical Technologist (MT) certificate.
- Experience in cell tissue culture, mosquito dissection, and identifying parasitemic blood samples.
- Fluent in speaking/reading/writing English.
- Ability to use computer software for database management (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Access etc.).
Salary range
Starting at THB20,000 per month depending on qualifications and experience
